Hello from the Carter-Su Lab at the University of Michigan!
Our research focuses on the molecular and physiological basis of obesity and type 2 diabetes. We are particularly interested in how the SH2B1 protein promotes lower body weight and improves the body's ability to regulate blood glucose levels. We use cultured cells and genetically engineered mouse models to understand how SH2B1 acts at the cellular and whole-body levels to regulate body weight and glucose levels.
